Configuring WhatsApp
Lastly, we need to set up WhatsApp to work with your phone number. If WhatsApp didn’t open automatically in the previous step, go back to the BlueStacks main screen by clicking BlueStacks icon on the bottom of the BlueStacks window. You will now see an overview of the installed apps, including WhatsApp. Open it.
If everything went right, you should now be greeted by the WhatsApp splash screen. Accept the terms and agreement, and enter your country and phone number.
You need to enter your cellphone number. It used to be possible to use the phone number from your home phone, but as of 2013, this no longer seems possible. It doesn’t hurt to try though! Sidenote: You can only use WhatsApp on one device at a time. Once you install it on your Mac, it will be disabled on your phone, until you reactivate it.
WhatsApp will now try to confirm your phone number by sending an SMS message with a confirmation code. This fails sometimes, so you might have to sit through the entire five minutes. After the 5 minutes, it will try to call you with an activation code. Enter the code and you’re good to go!
