Special requirements for running BlueStacks on Windows XP

Because Windows XP is very outdated, some special tweaks are needed to make our emulator program (BlueStacks) run on it.

Windows XP Service Pack 3

You need to have the latest service pack installed. Usually this is automatically done through Windows Update. You can check if you have it installed by clicking Start, and typing Winver in the search box. If you don’t have it, follow the instructions on the Microsoft website.

Windows Installer 4.5

For the installer to work correctly, you will need at least Windows Installer 4.5. You can get this version of Windows Installer from the Microsoft website.

.NET Framework 2.0 SP2

The Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 is also required for BlueStacks to run properly. You can download it here.

Please download the software from the links above. These are safe, and come from the official Microsoft website. You also are probably not gonna want to hear this, but you might want to think about upgrading to a newer version of Windows! Windows XP is becoming more insecure by the day, and support for it has been ceased.
